Master of Teaching (Primary)

The Master of Teaching – Primary program empowers aspiring educators with specialized skills to nurture young learners. Through a comprehensive curriculum, participants explore pedagogical approaches, curriculum design, and classroom management tailored to primary education. Graduates are equipped to create engaging and supportive learning environments, fostering the academic and personal growth of primary school students and laying a solid foundation for a lifelong journey of learning and exploration.

Learning Outcomes

  • Be introduced to research based teaching practices through modeling, simulation and video study;

  • Critically examine historical and contemporary issues in education (primary and middle school) at local and national level

  • Review different pedagogical theories and academic concepts of teaching that support the diversity of learners found in primary education settings

  • Plan, implement and evaluate a range of educational practices;

Admission Requirements

General Entry

  • A related Bachelor‟s Degree OR
  • A related Graduate Diploma at Level 8

Alternative Entry

  • 25 years old, completion of a related Level 5 qualification, and 7 years of relevant experience (of which 3.5 years of experience is obtained after completion of a Level 5 qualification), and completion of an MQA approved Pre-Master‟s Program. OR
  • 25 years old, completion of a related Level 6 qualification, and 6 years of relevant experience (of which 3 years of experience is obtained after completion of a Level 6 qualification), and completion of an MQA approved Pre-Master‟s Program

General Notice

The College may find it necessary in some circumstances to postpone or discontinue certain courses, particularly when they do not reach the prescribed minimum class size (atleast 10 per batch).
