Master of Public Administration

The Master of Public Administration (MPA) offers graduates the opportunity to apply knowledge in public administration and management, ethics and governance, and public finance. This programme is designed for graduates interested in pursuing a career in, or currently working in the public sector. The modules will provide graduates with comprehensive knowledge of contemporary public administration, principles of organisational design and management, public financial management, public and social policy-making process, ethics and governance, as well as research methods and evaluation. The degree equips students to navigate public sector organisations and networks, provides critical, reflexive knowledge and skills for effective administration and management, and critical decision-making. The eight taught modules are all compulsory, complimented by a Final Project module (TFP908) with two options in which students can choose any one option.

  • Understand the strategic environment in which public sector leaders operate and the relationships they develop for complex policymaking and performing

  • Apply theories, concepts, and research methods in investigating and analyzing the complexities and challenges of public administration, management, and governance

  • Apply knowledge and skills in self-management, communication, and teamwork activity in responding to the complexities and challenges of public administration, management and governance

Admission Requirements

General Entry

  • A related Bachelor‟s Degree OR
  • A related Graduate Diploma at Level 8

Alternative Entry

  • 25 years old, completion of a related Level 5 qualification, and 7 years of relevant experience (of which 3.5 years of experience is obtained after completion of a Level 5 qualification), and completion of an MQA approved Pre-Master‟s Program. OR
  • 25 years old, completion of a related Level 6 qualification, and 6 years of relevant experience (of which 3 years of experience is obtained after completion of a Level 6 qualification), and completion of an MQA approved Pre-Master‟s Program

General Notice

The College may find it necessary in some circumstances to postpone or discontinue certain courses, particularly when they do not reach the prescribed minimum class size (atleast 10 per batch).
